PERRY COUNTY, OHIO — The Perry County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled its annual Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs (HOFNOD) event for Saturday June 14, 2025, at the Perry County Gun Club Lake. Registration for this outstanding day dedicated to young anglers will be from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. that morning. The fishing day will conclude at noon. The lake is located at 4957 Township Road 149, New Lexington across State Route 13 near the Perry County Country Club golf course.

There is no cost to enter, and the event is open to the public. Every young angler will receive a T-shirt upon registering. Kids must be accompanied by an adult who may assist their young angler. Fishing licenses are not required for the HOFNOD event.

Prizes will be awarded to four age groups : 5 and under; 6-9; 10-13, and 14-17. One or two weigh-in stations will be available for the anglers to have their catch weighed. Trophies for the biggest fish in each age group will be awarded after lunch. Lunch is free for all participants.

The Perry County community has come together to make this day a tremendous success. Shoreline access to the water is plentiful all around the lake. Mark this day on your calendar…. Saturday June 14, 2025… and come enjoy a great day of fishing, hot dogs, and prizes.
