COLUMBUS, OH—Once the current winter storm blows across the Buckeye State, the National Fishing Expo will be in Columbus, Ohio January 30 through February 1. Scores of fishing experts on nearly every fish with fins will be presenting seminars on how to trick them into biting what you’re throwing at them.
In addition to the great speakers, the aisles in the Bricker Building at the Ohio State Fairgrounds will be packed with fishing tackle, boats, and fishing apparel. I will be there working for the Ohio Outdoor News selling subscriptions from a booth that is usually located in the first aisle to the right once you enter the show.
By the time we fight our way through sub-zero temps, frostbite inducing wind chills, and the biggest snowfall of the season, the Expo will be a great place to reduce the cabin fever that I’m sure will be at DEFCON 1 after a week of crowding around the heating source in our abodes.
The Expo opens on Friday January 30 at noon and runs to 7 p.m. On Saturday the doors open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. The last day of the Expo is Sunday when the doors will once again open at 10 a.m. with the Expo concluding at 3 p.m.
This year’s featured professional bass fisherman is James Watson who will be making presentations on Sunday. Additional speakers include Russ Bailey, one of the best crappie anglers anywhere as well as several Buckeye anglers speaking about Ohio lakes including Lake Erie. Andy Fryer, Tyler Berger, and Doug Stewart are all Ohio anglers who can offer great insight on the waters here in Ohio.
Stay warm and I hope to see you at the Expo!
