ROCKY FORK LAKE—March 29, 2026 saw the Perry County Anglers make the long drive to Rocky Fork Lake near Hillsboro, Ohio, for the season’s first club tournament. Reports of low water at the lake led the club to take an hour delay for an 8 a.m. start instead of the usual 7 a.m starting time. However, the bass did not delay the action whatsoever as the club enjoyed one of its best ever starts to a season.

First place was secured by Wes Clutter who had a five bass limit that weighed 18.55 pounds. Wes also claimed the 10 pound pot and big bass honors in addition to winning the tournament. Second place went to Jordan Wayne who also had a five bass limit. Jordan’s final weight was 13.61 pounds. Jason Nelson’s five bass limit weighed 12.03 as he captured third place.

Over 70 bass were weighed at the Rocky Fork tournament. The five bass that won the event for Wes all fell for a chatterbait. Wes said he believed fishing the windiest shoreline on the lake played a huge role in his victory. The next club tournament is scheduled for Sunday April 12 at Buckeye Lake.
